Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. Save the Children Federation, Inc., the US member of the global Save the Children movement, is a 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut. It works in the United States and around the world to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm, and when crisis strikes it aims to be among the first to respond and the last to leave.
Mission
Save the Children's mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting impact in their lives. Its senior leadership, Board of Trustees, and staff are dedicated to ensuring children everywhere survive, learn, and are protected. History
The organization traces its founding to Eglantyne Jebb, who saw children dying of starvation and disease after the end of the First World War. In 1919 she launched the Save the Children Fund to raise money to end children's suffering across war-torn Europe. More than 100 years later, Save the Children works in the United States and in countries around the world.
