About

Teach For All is a global network of independent, locally led organizations working to expand educational opportunity, together with a global organization headquartered in New York that facilitates connection and learning across the network. The network spans six continents, with partner organizations in 63 countries, from Teach For America and the UK's Teach First to Teach For India, Ensena Chile, and Teach For Nigeria. Teach For All envisions a world where all children have the education, support, and opportunity to shape a better future.

Mission

The Teach For All network is developing collective leadership to ensure all children can fulfill their potential. Its work is guided by shared core values: a sense of possibility; being locally rooted and globally informed; constant learning; diversity and inclusiveness; and interdependence.

What they do

  • Network partners: independent, locally led organizations that recruit and develop teachers and leaders in their own countries, sharing a common purpose and approach and adapting ideas from across the network to local needs.
  • Supporting new organizations: the global organization responds to local social entrepreneurs adapting the Teach For All approach in their countries, helping prospective partners develop the strategy and capacity to launch and grow.
  • Fostering network connectivity and learning: hosting virtual and in-person learning experiences, events, communities, and knowledge platforms for teachers, alumni, and staff across the network.
  • Coaching and consulting: global organization staff work closely with partner CEOs and staff on complex challenges.
  • Global initiatives: learning and insights programs including a Girls' Education Initiative, Education in Emergencies, Climate Education and Leadership, a Community Impact Lab, and a Global Leadership Accelerator.

History

Teach For America enlisted its first group of 500 young leaders to teach in high-need US schools in 1990, and the UK's Teach First launched in 2002. In 2006 alone, social entrepreneurs from more than a dozen countries sought support from Teach For America or Teach First to create similar organizations in their own countries. In response, the two organizations collaborated to found Teach For All, which was launched at the Clinton Global Initiative in September 2007 and became a fully independent organization.

Scale and impact

Teach For All's global network includes independent partner organizations in 63 countries across six continents. Across the network, teachers support students in developing the skills and mindsets to lead change, and network alumni go on to work with communities to improve outcomes and expand opportunity for students.
