History
Family Equality traces its founding to 1979, when it was established at the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. In the decades since, it has grown into a national organization advancing the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ families.

Darra Gordon serves as Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than 20 years of experience in movement-building and LGBTQ+ nonprofit leadership. Family Equality is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN 52-1438455).
